Shabbat Events with Rutgers Mesorah
Services
Rutgers Mesorah has Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat/Maariv every Friday of the semester. Since we coordinate meals with the rest of Rutgers Hillel, Davening does not always start at candlelighting. Please check the weekly announcements for up-to-date minyan times.
Shabbat Morning Davening begins at 9:15 AM and is followed by kiddush and a shiur by Rabbi Schwartz.
Shabbat Mincha takes place approximately 30 minutes before sunset and is followed by Seudah Shlishit and singing. Maariv with Havdalah begins at the end of Shabbat.
Divrei Torah
Members of the community deliver words of Torah on Friday evening following Kabbalat Shabbat, and Rabbi Schwartz does so on Shabbat morning, immediately preceding Mussaf.
Meals
Friday night dinner is provided free to all Rutgers and Middlesex County College students. It is served in the Marion and Norman Tanzman Dining Room, downstairs in the Hillel Building. Please note that the doors to the Dining Room do not open until all the religious communities complete their Friday night services.
Seuda Shlishit is served between Mincha and Maariv of Saturday evening. The fare varies depending on the week, but the food is predominately pareve.
